Harry to lead Quakers in DCC tie
Harry Stansfield is set to become one of the club’s youngest ever captains for a senior game on Tuesday night.
Harry, who is 16, will lead the team for the Durham Challenge Cup tie against Northern League club Stockton Town at Blackwell Meadows, and assistant manager Alan White, who knows Harry from the Academy, said; “Harry is already the captain of our Academy team, and he is a player whom we think has real ability and a bright future. We think that he has the confidence to take up the responsibility of being captain.”
Quakers have named a squad of 17 for the game, with ten first teamers included.
Squad: Hall, Maddison, Trotman, Banks, O’Hanlon, Lycett, Burn, Galbraith, Hoare, Stansfield, Glover, Lingthep, Henshall, Nicholson, Morrison, Thompson, Saunders.
Stockton will provide strong opposition. They reached the final of the FA Vase last season, and are going well in the Northern League this time round. They will include former Darlington midfielder Nathan Mulligan in their squad.
Kick off is 7.30, admission is £6 adults and £3 concessions.
