Darlington manager Martin Gray has announced that midfielder Leon Scott has agreed a new two year deal with the club.
Leon was one of MG’s first signings when he took over the managerial reins in the Northern League four seasons ago, and he has been one of the kingpins of Quakers’ terrific achievement of three promotions in four seasons.
MG said; “Leon has been fantastic in the centre of midfield this season by winning the ball and setting up goals, but he has also shown that he can play in a variety of positions as well. He has also played as an emergency centre half and a left back this season, so he is deal from a cover point of view.”
Leon was heavily involved in the 7-1 win over Whitby last week, and scored one of the most important goals of the season in the 3-2 win against Salford at Heritage Park in March. He started 33 league games this season, scoring four times.
MG has also scheduled talks with several other current players in the near future.
