Gate Pricing and Season Tickets for 2016-17 Season

Darlington Football Club would like to announce its match day admission and season ticket prices for the 2016-17 season.

Gate Prices

As the DFC500 club additional sales and extension as part of the “Move back to Darlo” redevelopment fund raising has now closed  (offering fans the opportunity of discounted ticket prices over the next five years), the focus now switches towards funding next season’s operational activities, embedding the Club back in Darlington and contributing towards the Club’s ongoing progression through the Leagues.

With another successful year on the pitch with a further promotion, our third in four years, off the field the failure to move back to Darlington had a seriously negative result on the club’s finances which required the recent well- publicised fund raising initiative by both the club and Supporters Group.

As we moved back to Darlington the club needs to match the additional costs of playing at Blackwell Meadows and playing at a higher level in the national league system with its income, with ticket receipts being the major contributor.

The Board of Directors has consulted with the Darlington Football Club Supporters Group (DFCSG) in its capacity as both corporate director and also majority shareholder in respect of the pricing structure and the following admission prices have been agreed.

GATE ADMISSION PRICES 2016-17

Adult            £12

Concession* £8

Child**          £4

* over 60’s as at 1 September 2016, full time students (student card required), registered disabled persons, armed forces personnel

** Children aged 5-16 years old

Children aged under 5 will gain free admittance

NB – proof of concession rate entitlement may be requested on entry

As a result, the Season Ticket prices for the 2016-17 season have now been set.

Rationale for the 2016-17 Season Ticket prices

  • Season ticket prices for both Adults and Concessions have been frozen for next season to take into account two fewer home matches balanced off against the increased admission prices on the day . No increase has been applied to child admission or season ticket prices for the third year running .

  • Once the final plans and construction budget has been agreed, a limited number of seated tickets if available will be sold on a first come basis for a premium of £30 over the advertised season ticket prices. These will be valid for the games commencing at Blackwell Meadows, which is envisaged to be in late August / early September   2016.  If you would like to be considered for one of these tickets please indicate on the season ticket application form.

  • An opportunity for season ticket applicants to pay in two equal installments is again available  (however, all payments mustbe received BEFORE 15th July 2016 to be entitled to the benefits of being a season ticket holder)

  • Season ticket holders along with 500 club members will be entitled to first priority for all-ticket matches and cup games. They will be eligible to buy two tickets for each season ticket held. It should be noted that a number of home matches this season are envisaged to be all ticket matches.

  • In addition we hope shortly to announce further incentives for season ticket holders with a number of sponsors with whom we are negotiating, including our major sponsor Virgin Trains.

  • All season tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable

Closing date for Season Ticket Applications is Friday 15 July 2016

Club Director Richard Cook explains the rationale of this season’s pricing and said; “Once again the club is committed to balancing value for money with the need to remaining competitive on and securing the future of the club off the field. We are committed to supporting our manager, Martin Gray, in the National League North where we will be competing against some well known and well funded clubs including Stockport County,  FC United of Manchester and FA Trophy winners FC Halifax Town.

“This year will be a year of transition for the club whilst we move back to Darlington. We hope the town rallies behind the club in increased attendances and we have the opportunity to greatly expand our commercial offer to the wider business community.  All of these factors support the opportunity to compete at the higher level and secure the future of the club.

“Once again we want to attract the town’s youngsters back to club. Current numbers remain low and we have once again frozen children’s ticket prices and season tickets. Over the year we will be heavily focusing on community engagement and attracting the future supporters of the club to Blackwell Meadows,  a number of key initiatives will be announced in due course .

“Like last season we are pleased to offer the opportunity to pay for the 2016-17 Season Tickets in 2 installments which proved to be very popular last year with fans .

“We firmly believe that as a club this fair pricing for the new season in a higher league of the National League North will give us the best chance to grow the fan base back in Darlington and also provide the strongest chance of building on the success of three promotions in four seasons."
