Darlington midfielder Stephen Thompson says that Quakers’ draw at Nuneaton on Saturday was a decent point.
Quakers maintained their unbeaten away record of five matches thanks to Mark Beck’s first half goal , with Thommo providing the assist.
“I thought we were brilliant in the first 25 minutes, and Nuneaton couldn’t get out of their box. The way we started, we could have been 2-0 or 3-0 up.
“They struggled to get into the game, but after Phil Turnbull went off, they were a little bit sharper and passed the ball around.
“I thought we should have had a penalty when Liam Hardy was fouled, but theirs looked a penalty at the other end as well. Maybe the ref felt that he couldn’t give them one after not giving us one.”
Quakers are fifth going into Wednesday night’s away game at Bradford Park Avenue, and Thommo said; “Any point away from home in this league is decent. If you look at Nuneaton’s games so far, they’ve played all of the top teams and had some tough matches.
“We’ll take a point, because Nuneaton had a lot of pressure in the second half and the lads stood up well to them.”
