Darlington resume league action after two weeks’ break with an away game at Brackley on Saturday.

Last time out Darlington put in a very impressive display as they overcame Stalybridge Celtic, 4-1. The result leaves Quakers currently third in the league table, four points behind league leaders AFC Fylde, and still unbeaten in the league away from home.

This weekend they make the long trip to Brackley Town, a side who have made a good start to the season. They currently sit ninth in the league having already picked up several impressive wins. In their last league game they also gained a very good point as they drew 1-1 away at Salford City.

Darlington manager Martin Gray said; “It’s probably our longest trip of the season,  but we’ve gone long distances already this season and come away with good results, such as Gloucester, and there’s no reason why we can’t win at Brackley.

“We’ve been quite good on our travels this season, and it’s important that we win. We go there refreshed. The rest wasn’t planned – we’d have preferred to be still in the FA Cup -- hopefully that will stand us in good stead. There will be no excuses, we’ve got a clean bill of health.”

Brackley have been in the National North since the 2012/13 season, in which year they only missed out on promotion against Halifax Town in the play-off final. However, last season they only avoided relegation on goal difference.

Last five years:

2011-12 Southern League played 42, points 85, champions

2012-13 Conference North played 42, points 85, 3rd

2013-14 Conference North played 42, points 69, 7th

2014-15 Conference North, played 42, points 47, 18th

2015-16 Conference North, played 42, points 46, 19th

Since our last game Quakers' squad is three players lighter having seen Amar Purewal and Adam Nowakowski go out on loan while Lewis Nightingale has re-joined former club Farsley.

Kick off on Saturday is 3pm, updates on the game will be made from the club's Facebook, Twitter, Mobile App (sponsore by Tempest Jones) and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio (sponsored by Tempest Jones) at 2:50pm.
