Squad: Lewis Johnston, Jermaine Ruddick, Sam Pocock, Lewis Smith, George McCowie, Josh Bell, Jack Harland, Matthew Downs, Jermaine Ruddick, Ben Jackson, Alex Tweddle, Luca Hendickson, Charlie Harrison, Archie Bruce, Ethan Routledge, Dan Kukielka and Harvey Nichol.

From the kick off the lads attacked, Jack Harland making the first attack. Swalwell cleared only for Jack to attack again and to be fouled in the box, penalty, whilst the lads sorted out who was taking it, Ethan Routledge placed the ball on the spot and slotted it into the net, welcome back Routy, 1-0. Swalwell attacked but Nathan covered well and played it out for a corner, which Lewis Johnstone collected comfortably. Several shots came and went for the lads getting closer every time, from Ben Jackson, George McCowie and Jack Harland. Nathan Carvey made his second appearance for the team and played some outstanding passes from the right. Time after time Luca Hendrickson cleared his lines from the back and went on to have an outstanding game.  Darlington got a corner and out of nowhere Alex Tweddle scored a magnificent header!! 2-0. Swalwell attacked again but all attackers were cancelled out by the very strong back four of captain Josh Bell, in-form Archie Bruce, Luca Hendrickson and very hard working Harvey Nichol.

Half Time: Darlington FC Youth 2 Swalwell Swifts 0

Second half and straight away George McCowie had a shot saved. Debutante Matty Downs had a well hit shot saved by a very good Swalwell keeper. Another debutante Dan Kukielka narrowly shot over the bar at a now uncomfortable Swalwell defence. Time again attacks were cut out by the solid Darlo defence or Lewis Johnstone calmly cleared his lines. Jack Harland and Jermaine Ruddick started to terrorise the defence, with Jermaine getting very frustrated. After being told to relax and enjoy, Jack played him through and he chipped the keeper with fantastic skill. Matty had another shot outside the box and Sam Pocock also, only to be denied by a magnificent keeper.

Unfortunately, Lewis Smith and Charlie Harrison pulled out at the last minute with injuries and Captain Tom Ord came to watch, all three lads gave their support from the sidelines.

Final Score: Darlington Youth 3 Swalwell Swifts 0
