Darlington Football Club and the Darlington FC Supporters Group as majority shareholder confirm that a formal approach has now been made regarding possible private investment in the club. The Board hopes that fans will understand the need to keep the details of the approach confidential until the terms of investment have been agreed.
Consequently, a non-disclosure agreement has been signed preventing comment without all parties’ consent. With that agreement in place there will be a preliminary sharing of financial information so that the structure and extent of investment can be considered. The Boards of the club and the Supporters Group recognise the need to keep all shareholders and fans up to date on developments and be as open as they can be as quickly as they can be through official channels. However there will inevitably be periods during which there are no updates provided, and so we ask for patience.
The Supporters Group would urge fans to review the funding proposals that were tabled at the Fans Forum last Friday, so that in the event that the investment discussions do not proceed, the club is in a position to plan for next season https://fundraising.darlingtonfcsupportersgroup.org/
In the meantime the investors have today kindly matched the “pitch funding” with a £10,000 donation, the club is extremely thankful for this very generous gesture.
