The reserves won their final friendly of the season by 6-0 at Shildon Railway tonight.
In what was a perfect boost ahead of their Wearside League kick off on Saturday, they scored five times in the second half to run out comfortable winners.
Nathan Stephenson opened the scoring in the first half, and then completed his hat trick with two more after half time.
Tom Young scored twice, and James Beauchamp scored the other against opponents who fielded several former Northern League players.
Joint manager Mark Fanning said; "It was exactly the result and the performance we wanted. The lads got a great confidence boost in the second half. We scored six goals, kept a clean sheet, played well -- the performance ticked all the boxes.
"The win sets us up nicely for our first league game at Prudhoe on Saturday."
