Academy lads in shop window

Chance to continue their development
Darlington’s Academy youngsters will be putting themselves in the shop window when they play York City on the back field at Blackwell Meadows, (kick off 1.30) on Wednesday afternoon.
The youngsters have shown plenty of promise, and now they have an opportunity to progress their careers on a dual registration basis alongside a Northern League or Wearside League club.
“The lads have been with us for three months and they’ve steadily improved in that time,” said manager Tommy Wright.
“But now the time has come when we want to continue their development and give them some extra experience.
“We are quite happy for them to go out on a dual registration basis or loan to a Northern League or Wearside League club, and so if any clubs want to take a look at them, then they’re more than welcome to come along on Wednesday afternoon.”
Centre forward Brandon Morrison has already gone out on loan to Northern League Second Division club Crook Town, and he played 20 minutes for them last Saturday at Heaton Stannington.
Brandon will be in the squad for Wednesday’s game, as will skipper Harry Stansfield, who returns after suspension.
The lads are improving all the time, and they’re confident of their first win in Division I of the National League Youth Alliance against second placed York.
They’ve produced some good performances this season, but have been edged out on several occasions by teams whom on average are a year older than them.
