Youngsters heading to Frickley in the Youth Alliance
The Academy lads are looking for back-to-back wins when they go to Frickley on Wednesday afternoon in the National League Under 19 Youth Alliance.
Last week, they gave themselves a huge boost by beating previously-unbeaten York City thanks to a late goal by Brandon Buckley, and they’re in great spirits heading to West Yorkshire.

Head coach Alan White said; “Last week’s win meant a lot to the lads, because performances had been really good until then, without getting a win. I think they all realised then how far they’d progressed in three months.
“The win was a massive boost to the lads’ confidence and belief for the games ahead.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Cameron Holliday, who is dual-registered with Crook Town, scored for the Northern League club in their 2-0 win last Saturday.
“He’s a strong lad and has been exactly what we wanted since he came along. He’s added that little bit of extra quality, and helped the other lads get better. I’m sure he’ll mature into a better player.” Cameron also set up the winner for the Academy last week with a great low cross from the right.
Fellow team mate Brandon Morrison is also playing for Crook, and he played the full 90 minutes in the win over Easington.
The match kicks off at 2pm
