Darlington’s new assistant manager Alan White says that he is super-excited about his new role at the club.
Alan has had three previous spells at the club, and actually won his first medal in his career in the EvoStik First Division North play offs three years ago.
But now he’s looking forward to his new role as assistant manager alongside his old team mate Tommy Wright.
“I’ve known Tommy for a lot of years, ever since we played together at Darlington ten years ago. “The appointment happened really quickly; I hardly had time to draw breath on Friday when things were happening.
“I’m super-excited about the job. I’ve had three spells before as a player and a coach, and being a part of it again is fantastic.
“We know the style of football that we want to play, and how things should be done in terms of attitude and discipline, for example. We’ll also be looking at what the players are like, so obviously it will take time to get things sorted.
“Tommy and I are both very experienced, we’re strong characters, and we’re not afraid to be honest with people.
“I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Spennymoor and I had some great experiences. We were successful last season, and it was great working with Jason Ainsley and Tommy Miller. I’m very grateful to them, my stay with them will stand me in good stead.”
