This week veteran defender Alan White left his home town club for the third time to join neighbours Spennymoor Town as a player and coach.
A huge fan favourite, White re-joined the Quakers during the 2013-14 campaign and he helped the side to promotion the following season. He played virtually every game including the play-off final victory over Bamber Bridge
He was also used up-front early on in the 2015-16 campaign when Martin Gray’s striking options were limited. White scored four goals during this spell including a crucial winner at home to Blyth Spartans.
Despite having limited appearances as the season ran on, he also joined Darlington’s coaching team. He came on as a late substitute to a fantastic reception during the title winning game at Whitby, before making his final appearance for the club at Rushall Olympic on the last day of the season.
Graeme Armstrong also joined Spennymoor Town earlier this summer from the Quakers, as well as former Darlington players Jamie Chandler and Rob Ramshaw.
Everyone at Darlington would like to thank Alan for everything he has done for the club and wish him all the best at Spennymoor Town.
