The Reserves pulled off another great win on Saturday to put them seventh in the Wearside League table.
The lads beat Gateshead Leam Rangers 2-0 at Eastbourne, with goals by Anthony Verity and Nathan Stephenson, to give them their sixth straight win!
Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “The wind spoiled the game and Gateshead were a bit physical, but our lads coped well.
“They never really found their top form, but they coped with the physical stuff well and they ground out a good result. We’d have lost games in circumstances like those three months ago.”
Nathan’s goal was a strange one, he scored from inside the centre circle with the Gateshead keeper well out of his goal claiming that he had been fouled by a Darlington forward.
The reserves next game is against league leaders Jarrow at Eastbourne on Saturday – dare they hope for win number seven?
