Darlington FC Youth U12s 5 v Seaton Carew 2
MOTM - Benjy Keating
The lads were asked how much it hurt to lose for the first time last week and show it in this clash between the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the league!!
Darlington started brightly and a through ball was ran onto by Callum Moncur who first time curled an effort past the keeper brilliantly then soon after the ball came rolling out the box to Jojo who hit a shot over the keeper to make it 2-0 to Darlo.
But the game was still even with Seaton running the midfield and playing some good football and this paid off when they scored twice to make it 2-2 at half time.
Darlington changed to four in midfield at half time to try and get grips in midfield and by putting Benjy Keating into the midfield this paid off massively as Darlo took control and were in control in the second half.
The brilliant Keating scored a drive on 40 minutes and then Keating, Walters Crumpton and Gibson took control and also great forward play by loan striker Diamond caused problems for Seaton and then Davidson and Dixon scored good goals to make it 5-2.
Darlo saw the game out well with Clark, Moncur and Walters at the back and Lumley in goal.
Coach Warren said "This was a great win in a tough game, motm Benjy Keating was awarded for an absolutely brilliant performance in defence and midfield!!"
