Quakers' four game unbeaten run came to an end at the Jakemans Stadium.

They were beaten by two goals in the first six minutes, and then had striker Jake Cassidy controversially dismissed a few minutes later.

Quakers went a goal down in the opening minute. Boston won the ball in midfield, and Paul Green played the ball through for Jake Wright to dink over the advancing Tommy Taylor.

Quakers nearly levelled after 4 minutes when Jake Cassidy got clean through one-on-one, but Boston keeper Marcus Dewhurst pulled off a great save.

Quakers were opened up again on 6 minutes when Scott Duxbury split the defence again with an unchallenged run down the left for Wright to run through in the inside left position and fire across Taylor into the bottom right hand corner.

Quakers were harshly reduced to ten men on 12 minutes when Cassidy was sent off for a challenge for the ball in midfield with Darlington players claiming that he went for a 50-50 ball. 

That looked no worse than a challenge by Boston's tom Platt two minutes later, who cleaned out Ben Hedley with a reckless tackle which lifted the full back off the ground, but the referee only showed a yellow.

Despite being a man down, Quakers steadily got back into the game. Jack Lambert had a free kick from 30 yards blocked by the wall, and they forced a corner without success.

Boston had a chance of a third when a right wing cross fell to Duxbury at the far post, but he fired wide.

Hedley then made a good tackle inside the area to stop Ayina getting a shot in.

Quakers had a chance to get a goal back on 45 minutes when Lambert found Luke Charman out on the left. The striker dribbled into the area, but Dewhurst saved his left foot shot.

Quakers made a sub at half time, with Griffiths going off injured and Rivers replacing him.

It was nearly 3-0 on 53 minutes when Wright had a chance ten yards out, but Taylor saved at his feet.

However, Quakers kept going, and Lambert made a good run down the left but was crowded out in the area.

Quakers nearly pulled a goal back when Charman ran at the Boston defence and set up Lambert who forced Dewhurst into a full length save with a great effort from the edge of the box.

Quakers made another sub on 71 minutes, Junior Mondal coming on for Charman, then five minutes later Will Hatfield came on for Rose. Jake Cooper also went up front.

They had another chance on 80 minutes when Lambert’s free kick found Cooper six yards out, and Dewhurst -- who was announced as Boston's man of the match -- saved at point blank range.

Rivers then seemed to be bodychecked by a defender as he went for the ball in the area, but the referee waved play on.
