BT Sport will launch the 2016/17 Vanarama National League season by screening the opening day fixture between Maidstone United and York City from the Gallagher Stadium with a 12.15pm kick off on Saturday 6th August on BT Sport 1.

The Stones are setting out on their first season after gaining promotion last term by welcoming their visitors for the long journey down into Kent. Meanwhile for The Minstermen they will be facing their first competitive game since relegation and so for both clubs they will have differing reasons to get off on the winning foot.

Respective managers Jay Saunders and Jackie McNamara will surely relish the opportunity not only to be the first to test out the newly relaid 3G Pitch, the first game to be played at Step1 on an artificial surface; but to get the new Vanarama National League season off to the best possible start in front of the BT Sport cameras.

After seeing a live game of their own choosing on match weekends, fans will be able to top off their weekend on Sunday evening, with the BT Sport highlights show covering all the goals and important action from the Vanarama National League matches over that weekend.
