A special second half goal by Kaine Felix gave Quakers their sixth straight league win at the Deva stadium.#

Felix scored his second goal since joining Quakers, but they also had a great defensive performance to thank, especially from Dan Dodds, who cleared one off the line in the first half and nearly scored at the other end in the second.

The result put Quakers second in the table, much to the delight of the travelling fans in the crowd at the Deva Stadium. It was also their first win at the Deva Stadium since their Football League days in 2009.

Chester gained an early corner which was headed ahead by Dan Dodds at the far post, but Quakers responded with a cross from the left by Ben Hedley which a defender just cleared ahead of Mark Beck.

The game went from end to end after that, and Coulton caused a scare when he crossed along the ground from the left and Ben Hedley had to nip in and clear under pressure.

Chester broke through on the right with Morgan, who got into the box, pulled the ball back, but Dodds got back to cover, managed to get his foot to the ball, and the ball looped up into Taylor’s hands.

Chester continued to probe down both flanks with pace, but Quakers managed to keep them out. Quakers had their first real attempt on 22 minutes, with a right foot shot from Hedley from 25 yards over the top.

Quakers threatened again when Lambert and Beck combined and found Hazel on the left, and his low cross was cut out at the near post.

They had a half chance on 32 minutes when Lambert’s free kick was nodded down by Beck for Hazel to have a shot blocked on the edge of the box.

Jassem Sukar, who is yet to score for Quakers, ran forward from the back and struck a powerful low left foot shot that Harry Tyrer saved low down to his right.

And another chance came along on 38 minutes when Hazel came inside and squared the ball for Beck, who fired left footed over the top.

Quakers had a scare when Morgan got round the back of the defence causing a scramble in the six yard box and Dodds cleared off the line again.

Half time 0-0

Quakers had a chance at the start of the second half. Lambert’s deep corner from the left was nodded back by Lawlor at the far post for Hazel, whose drive was deflected wide.

Quakers took the lead on 62 minutes. A long ball forward by Taylor went over everyone's heads bouncing over the Chester defence for Felix to latch on to. He ran into the box, and cleverly lifted the ball over the keeper for his second goal for the club.

Chester pushed forward and they nearly created an opening ten yards out if it wasn’t for a great interception by Dodds.

It was nearly 2-0 on 74 minutes. Dodds picked the ball up on the right on the halfway line  ran powerfully forward, played a 1-2 to get into the box, and his left foot shot slid just past the far post.

But Chester nearly levelled from a corner that was floated in for Roberts to sidefoot straight at Taylor.

After that, Quakers defended valiantly, with players throwing themselves at the ball, making interceptions and forcing Chester into mistakes.

The full time whistle was greeted by a huge ovation from the travelling fans, of whom there were around 250 in the away end.
