Another comfortable win for Darlington Youth U17s, as they took on Easington Colliery AFC in a league fixture.
The Darlington side were dominant from the beginning, keeping long spells of possession in the Easington half, however struggled to put the ball away. 10 minutes in captain for the day Charlie Wiggan scored Darlington's first, with a headed goal from an excellent corner by Jonty Gray.
The home side remained in comfortable form, pushing further on, until a long ball from the away side set the Easington striker through on goal, however thanks to an excellent save by Harry Dowding, the home side were able to stay on top.
It wasn't long after this defensive error that Darlington were causing more problems in the opponents box, as Dale Milburn and George Shaw scored the second and third goals for the home side, both with brilliant finishes.
After the half time restart Darlington started energetically again, Luke Wilkinson scoring within the first 2 minutes. This was then quickly followed by Joseph Smith, who scored Darlington's fifth and final goal of the afternoon on the 50 minute mark. The home side continued to dominant the game however failed to be clinical in taking their chances. Overall a dominant and confident display by the home side.
MOM today Dale Milburn for a truly brilliant goal.
