Congratulations, Stychey!

Congratulations to Reece Styche, who was part of the Gibraltar team that won its first ever competition game in Armenia on Saturday!
Stychey came on as a sub as Gibraltar were hanging on to a 49th minute penalty that eventually gave them their first win in 23 tournament matches. They’d lost their previous 22 matches, scoring only five times after joining UEFA five years ago. They had won two friendlies though, against Malta and Latvia.
Stychey said; Never have I ever had a feeling like this in football!! The best moment ever!! For one of the smallest nations in the world, the achievement we have just accomplished is astronomical. This moment will live with me forever.”
Armenia had 77 per cent possession and 35 shots at goal, but Joseph Chipolina’s penalty gave them their win.
They didn’t allow a blunder by the home authorities, when they played the wrong national anthem by mistake – they played Liechtenstein’s by mistake instead of Gibraltar’s before the game.
Gibraltar now play Liechtenstein on Tuesday.
