Daisy wins Young Citizen of the Year award!
By Ray Simpson
In recognition of her community work
Daisy Simpson, who plays for our Under 11 girls’ team, won the Young Citizen of the Year at an awards ceremony in the Dolphin Centre on Friday night in recognition of her fantastic work in the community!
Daisy has spent most of the last eighteen months raising funds and receiving foodbank donations to pass on to the needy in the town.
During the pandemic last year, she raised enough money and donations in one campaign to help 87 families in the town, and then she helped many more in her toy and selection boxes appeal at Christmas.
She has launched another mission this year, and once again she’s asking for help from Darlington fans.
If you would like to donate a toy or selection box to Daisy, then you can leave them in her collection point at Morrisons in Morton Park or contact her on Facebook at Daisy’s Toy and Selection Box Mission.
Daisy and her family have also been invited to Saturday’s home game against Gloucester and Mr Q will donate some toys and selection boxes on behalf of the club to Daisy to support her charity before the kick off at around 2.45pm.
The closing date for Daisy’s mission is 10th December.
Everybody at Darlington FC is very proud of Daisy’s efforts, and urge our fans to support her as much as possible.
