Darlington Youth Under 18s 5 Darlington RA Under 18s 0

With wind and rainy conditions Darlington found it hard to get going and get a foothold in the game with the RA starting stronger.

15 minutes in and Darlington took advantage of a goalkeeping error as the ball hung in the air, the keeper came out to clear but was beaten to it at the edge of the box by Daniel Pigg who slotted home into an empty net.

Once Darlington got the goal the game never looked in doubt as they controlled the tempo and dictated play.

They got their reward with a second goal as Nathan Stephenson played a lovely ball in behind and a defensive mix up led to Pigg getting a second.

Darlington added one more through Pigg before the break to complete his hat trick.

The second half was more of the same and with 60 minutes gone Lewis Reece helped himself to a tap in through a lovely build up beforehand. Darlington could have added more if it wasn’t for a great display by the second half keeper .

Adam Lee-Shields scored late on to seal a perfect afternoon for Darlington.
