Quakers must travel to Merseyside on Tuesday night for a third qualifying round replay they don't want when they came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Marine.
Quakers were two goals down at one point in the first half and got back to 2-2 with a cracking equaliser by Stephen Thompson, but then were frustrated by Marine's time wasting tactics late in the game. Quakers couldn't quite make an extra man advantage tell after Kurt Sherlock was red carded for a foul.
Quakers made a good start to the game, but found themselves two goals down.
There was a good run by Josh Gillies up the left on 6 minutes, that ended in a corner.
Gillies curled the corner over and it just evaded the onrushing Mark Beck and Gary Brown.
But Quakers went close on 8 minutes when Gillies crossed from the left for Beck, who seemed a certain scorer with a diving header, but somehow keeper Calvin Hare pushed his header against the bar.
A minute later Nathan Cartman broke through and Hare saved his shot.
Chris Hunter, making a return to the side after injury, made a terrific winning tackle on Obi Anoruo as Marine tried to break.
Phil Turnbull, who has yet to score for Quakers this season, went close on 16 minutes with a 25 yarder that went a yard or so wide.
But Marine took the lead after 28 minutes when a right wing corner wasn’t cleared properly by the Darlington defence and the ball fell for Michael Monaghan to drive through a crowd of players into the net.
Quakers went 2-0 down on 31 minutes when a free kick was nodded down at the back post for William Smart to put into the roof of the net.
Quakers were awarded a penalty on 32 minutes when Cartman was pulled down by Adam Hughes who was booked, but Hare guessed correctly and dived to his left to keep out Galbraith’s penalty.
Quakers then missed a chance to pull one back when Beck headed another Gillies corner wide.
Quakers pulled a goal back on 38 minutes when Thompson hit the post from the edge of the box, and the ball came out on the left for Terry Galbraith to hammer into the roof of the net for his ninth goal of the season.

Quakers nearly levelled when Marrs crossed from the right and Beck outjumped the keeper and the ball dropped on to the roof of the net.
Nathan Cartman had the ball in the net just before half time, but he was pulled up for handball.

In the second half, Cartman played a neat one-two with Josh Falkingham and curled a right foot shot a couple of yards over the bar, then Brown was inches away from getting on the end of a Galbraith free kick.
But Quakers levelled on 65 minutes. Turnbull put the ball into the box, and it was partly cleared as far as Stephen Thompson, who rifled the ball across the keeper into the top corner for a cracking goal.
Dudzinski made his first save of note on 71 minutes when James Foley struck a low shot from the edge of the box that the keeper held first time.
Beck got the ball in the net from a right wing cross, but it was disallowed.
Quakers used their last sub on 81 minutes, Leon Scott coming on for Josh Falkingham.
Marine were reduced to ten men when Sherlock was shown a straight red for a high challenge on Thompson, although the referee hadn't seen an assistant's flag raised for offside when Quakers had the ball in the Marine box.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Syers fired over the top from a Beck nod down, and then Thompson fired into the side netting from outside the box.
The replay is on Tuesday night at Marine, kick off 7.45pm
