Darlington FC and the Dolphin Centre announce a consolidated partnership
Darlington Football Club and the Dolphin Centre today announce a consolidation of their current partnership.
The Dolphin Centre, which is run by Darlington Borough Council, has kindly provided facilities for the football club’s Quaker Retail, book launches, meetings and other functions in the last five years, and now it has agreed to the football club basing its management and football management functions there.
Darlington director John Tempest, who has conducted the negotiations, said; “The club has been looking to house its management and football management teams centrally for some time, and the Dolphin Centre is ideal because it is right in the heart of the fan base. The arrangement will also provide us with a venue to hold meetings and store club materials instead of at various individuals’ houses which has been the case for five years.
“We also hope that this well help the club become more efficient and professional.”
Mike Crawshaw, head of leisure at Darlington Borough Council said; “We have always had a very good relationship, not only with John Tempest, but also with other past and current officials of the football club.
“It’s in everybody’s interests for the football club and ourselves to consolidate our partnership, and obviously the town benefits greatly if the football club prospers.
“We are absolutely delighted that the club is going to locate itself in the Dolphin Centre. It’s the town’s football club, so that will always work for us."
