Darlington FC Football in the Community visit St Joseph’s
Darlington players Omar Holness and Osagi Bascome, along with our Football in the Community staff, recently visited St Joseph’s Primary School in Billingham and talked about their lives as footballers.
The Year 5 and Year 6 children enjoyed some football skills activities and then took part in a Q&A session. They players spoke about their commitment to health and fitness, and the need to be determined to succeed and resilient when things are tough. They also spoke about their experiences playing all over the world and stories about their favourite goals etc.
The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children and staff with the final question, from a Y6 boy, being 'When are you coming back?!?'
The children really enjoyed themselves:
Bobby, a Y6 boy, said, " I really enjoyed the dribbling activity- I was amazed at how good they were and how well I did!"
Millie, a Y6 girl, said, "I really liked Omar's accent!"
Lily, a Y6 girl, said, "They really inspired me to work hard- that I can achieve my dreams."
Brady, a Y6 boy, said, " I really enjoyed hearing how they have accomplished their dream."
