There is something quite thrilling about volunteering for your football club on a matchday. The excitement of a home game that you get as a fan, with the added bonus of knowing that you have played your part in making the day run as smoothly as possible.
Without our dedicated team of matchday volunteers, home games at Blackwell Meadows simply wouldn’t happen. As such, matchday volunteers are absolutely critical to Darlington Football Club.
Our Matchday Turnstile team is now looking for new volunteers to work at Blackwell Meadows on Saturdays and/or midweek home games.
This volunteer role would require someone to be available between 1pm and 3pm for a Saturday home game, 6.15pm and 7.45pm for a midweek home game. Full training would be given plus matchday volunteers are entitled to free admission to the match.
Turnstiles is a very rewarding and important volunteer role, ensuring that fans get into the ground in a safe and efficient manner, be it season ticket regulars or “pay on the gate” newcomers. If you’re a ‘people person’ with a passion for the club, then this could be a great volunteering role for you!
Stewards also play an important part in the matchday experience, making sure that everyone is on their best behaviour and can enjoy the game safely
Darlington FC is a club with its roots at the heart of its local community. The role that the club plays in the lives of many different groups of people across the town cannot be underestimated and it provides interest, passion and enjoyment for thousands of supporters.
Volunteering can be extremely rewarding and is a great way to meet new people and put your skills to use for the greater good of Darlington Football Club.
