Quakers lost their fourth home game of the season when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Guiseley -- which means that they drop out of the play off places.
It wasn't the best performance of the season by any means, but Quakers were also aggrieved by a couple of decisions.
Jarrett Rivers cut inside a defender on the left in the first minute, but his shot was blocked by a defender.
With the blustery wind behind them, Guiseley’s Kane Felix broke through, and Liam Connell just managed to put out a hand and stop him, but Guiseley claimed he was outside the box.
Guiseley had another chance on a bumpy pitch when Felix broke through on the left, and Storey just managed to get the ball out for a corner when Felix tried to pull the ball back.
Quakers had a chance when Hatfield threaded the ball through for Martin, and debutant keeper Wade just managed to save at his feet.
Guiseley took the lead on 32 minutes. According to the referee, Connell handled a back pass inside his area and booked the keeper. And after the protests had finished, Bencherif drove the free kick into the bottom right hand corner.
Guiseley nearly got a second when the ball was pulled back for Chris Sang to hit a low shot on the turn that Connell saved at full stretch.
Half time 0-1
Guiseley were awarded a controversial penalty on 52 minutes when the ref said that Alex Storey fouled Felix, and after the protests from Darlington died down, Soleman scored in the bottom left hand corner.
As their frustration at the goal grew, Quakers tried to hit back, and an inswinging free kick by Rivers was glanced just wide by Martin.
Rivers nearly pulled one back with a spectacular effort on 74 minutes, when he won the ball in the centre circle, spotted Wade off his line and tried to chip him from 50 yards, but the ball went just over the top.
Quakers had a penalty shout turned down when Thompson went down under a challenge in the box, but the ref waved play on.
Donawa then fired across the face of goal after he picked up the ball on the right.
But Guiseley replied with a run up the left by Soleman, which ended with him firing over the top, then Felix broke down the right and his shot was deflected wide.
It was 3-0 on 83 minutes though when Soleman again worked his way up the left into the box and struck a low shot past Connell.
