Mark Beck scored twice as Quakers came back to draw with Salford.

Quakers were forced back early in the game as Salford started well, but they slowly got more into the game.

Quakers were forced on the defensive fron the off, and Salford took the lead on 6 minutes when Sam Walker whipped a free kick in from the right, and Michael Nottingham got the last touch into the bottom corner.

Salford nearly got another wit ha low shot by Mike Phenix that Ben Dudzinski saved low down.

Quakers managed to get a toe hold back in the game on 18 minutes, when a miscue by one of the Salford midfielders allowed Mark Beck to pick the ball up, sidestep a defender, and then slot the ball left footed past the keeper for his eighth goal of the season.

The goal gave Quakers a much needed lift, and the game became much more even, and Josh Gillies was just over wit ha right foot shot that went just over the bar from the edge of the box.

Gillies had another effort deflected wide from twelve yards as Quakers increased the tempo, then a delicate chip by Phil Turnbull was headed into the keeper’s hands by Gary Brown.

But Salford went back in front against the run of play in the second minute of stoppage time. Walker curled another free kick into the box which prompted a scramble and Michael Phenix forced the ball in from a yard out.

Quakers pulled level after eight minutes of the second half, when Phil Turnbull curled a delightful ball with the outside of his right foot into the box for Beck to head into the bottom corner.

Quakers then put Salford under some good pressure. Sub Liam Hardy had a shot on the turn saved by Lynch, as did Josh Gillies from the edge of the box.

A moment of controversy followed when Beck claimed that he had his shirt pulled in the box as he went for a Stephen Thompson cross, but the referee waved his protests away.

And as Quakers piled on the pressure in stoppage time, Hardy put in a terrific cross from the right that Beck, at full stretch, could only put over the bar.
