Both sides shared the points following a wind spoilt game at Blackwell Meadows.
A 30 mph wind blew straight down the ground, so it was never going to be a game for the purists, although nobody could doubt the commitment of the players of both teams. Chances were well and truly at a premium, with neither keeper having all that much to do.
At least though Quakers gained their first league point of the season.
Quakers started against the wind , but they still had the first chance of the game when Tony McMahon made ground up the right and pulled the ball back for Will Hatfield to fire straight at Dale Eve.
Quakers forced the pace of the game, with Sousa and McMahon causing problems, and they won two corners which came to nothing.
Moors had a chance on 11 minutes when the ball came into the Darlington box from the right, and Hall had a glancing header well saved by Minter.
Moors got a free kick 35 yards out, which Taylor fired towards goal on the wind, and Minter managed to block his effort.
The strong wind caused all sorts of problems, with neither team managing to really cope with its effects. Too often the ball was caught by the swirling wind.
Moors created a chance on 28 minutes when Thompson got round the back of the defence and pulled the ball back for Ramshaw, who put the ball wide as he was tackled by Laing, who stayed down injured, and was stretchered off after treatment, to be replaced by Sean Reid.
Half time 0-0
The wind seemed to drop slightly in the second half. Moors had a chance on 55 minutes when Taylor nodded down a left wing cross for Thompson, on the edge of the box, to fire straight at Minter.
Moors had another chance when Taylor cut in from the left and fired over the top from 30 yards out.
Quakers had a great chance when Liddle and Campbell worked their way into the box and Campbell set up Sousa, whose shot from just inside the box went over the top.
There was a big scramble with a few minutes left in which Quakers got the ball into the box thanks to two huge tackles by Hatfield, and Sousa and Rivers both had shots charged down.
Final score 0-0 -- here are the highlights:
