Darlington Women sign Millie Soderman

Comes from the Under 18s

Darlington FC Women are delighted to officially announce the signing of Millie Soderman.

Millie steps up from our U18s side and has already been in the Matchday squad as she took a place on the bench last Sunday due to a late injury. Millie has been at the club since she was 12 and is now the 7th player from our U18s to step up which is unbelievable and shows the progression from the Youth team to the First team once again.

Millie is a young versatile defender who primarily plays at right back but can also fill in at left back and centre back as well as in midfield so will add some defensive cover to the squad.

Manager Shaun Mackenzie said; "It’s fantastic to bring another young talented footballer into the group. Millie has been on my radar for a while and has been training with the team for a good few months now. Millie actually plays a year up for the 18s and is still at school so it’s a great opportunity for her to gain some experience playing senior womens football. She’s a great kid and fully deserves the chance to show us what she can do. With Lily’s long term injury and Lou Brown also being on the sidelines, it was a no brainer to bring Millie in and she will give us another option defensively. "
