Darlington Football Club would like to announce the departure of David Ferguson to York City.
We have allowed him to leave after York City met the value of the release clause in his contract, and as a consequence we felt that we were not in a position to prevent him leaving. For reasons of confidentiality, DFC will not release details of this figure.
David made 31 appearances for us, scoring 5 times (he’s the joint top scorer for us this season with four goals), and during his spell has been called up for England C.
We would like to wish him the best of luck in his future career.
We have also rejected an approach from York City for keeper Adam Bartlett, who has told us that he wants to remain at the club. We are delighted that Adam has decided to stay.
