Elsewhere Salford City suffered a shock home defeat to Stourbridge. After the Ammies had been reduced to ten men, during the first half, the visitors claimed a 1-0 victory thanks to a Justin Richards strike.
Barwell are up to seventh after a 1-0 victory over Buxton. Anthony Carney scored the only goal of the game of the game for Barwell in the 47th minute.
Rushall Olympic missed the chance to close the gap on the top five after they were held at home by Ilkeston. Rushall were 2-0 up after 71 minutes thanks to goals from Joshua McKenzie and Jake Heath. However, Michael Williams and Lindokuhle Ndlovu earned a 2-2 draw for the visitors.
At the other end of the table Skelmersdale United moved away from the relegation places after a comfortable win at Colwyn Bay. Christopher Almond scored a hat-trick for Skelmersdale with Max Hazeldine also on the scoresheet. Connor Roberts-Nurse pulled a goal back in the final minute for Colwyn, but it couldn’t prevent a 4-1 defeat.
Last Saturday only one game survived the weather, as Grantham Town hosted Workington. Conor Tinnion scored the only goal of the game for Workington, who are up to third following the win.
This coming weekend the Quakers take on Colwyn Bay at Heritage Park. On Tuesday night the top two teams go head-to-head at Croft Park when Blyth Spartans meet Salford City.
