As we enter the final weekend of the season, most of the important league positions have been decided in the Evo-Stik Premier division.

Darlington secured the league title on Thursday night in front of a large travelling crowd at Whitby.

On Sunday Darlington beat Stamford 2-1 at the Brewery Field thanks to goals from Kevin Burgess and Adam Mitchell. Darlington then beat Grantham Town 2-0 on Tuesday night at Heritage Park with the goals coming from Leon Scott and Amar Purewal.

On Thursday the title was sealed for Darlington, as we won 7-1 at Whitby, which included a hat-trick for Graeme Armstrong.

Blyth had won 2-0 away at Matlock Town on Saturday thanks to goals from Sean Reid and Damen Mullen. On Tuesday night Blyth Spartans picked up another victory this time at home to Rushall Olympic 3-0, Sean Reid, Danny Maguire and Michael Richardson scoring the goals for Blyth.

Salford City scored an injury time equaliser at home to Nantwich Town on Saturday. Joshua Hancock had given Nantwich the lead, but Richard Allen earned a point for the Ammies in stoppage time.

The final two playoff places are up for grabs, with Ashton United, Stourbridge and Workington looking to join Blyth and Salford in the end of season show down.

Stourbridge beat Whitby Town 2-0 on Saturday, thanks to second half goals from Christopher Lait and Justin Richards

However, Stourbridge missed the chance to seal their top five spot on Thursday night at Frickley Athletic. Karl Hawley appeared to have won the game for Stourbridge 15 minutes from time, but two penalties in the final three minutes from Jacob Hazel and Thomas Davie gave Frickley the 2-1 win.

In a huge game on Saturday Workington were able to pick up a 1-0 win at Ashton United. Scott Allison scored the only goal of the game for Workington ten minutes from full time.

Ashton were able to bounce back on Tuesday, as they beat Halesowen Town 3-0, thanks to goals from Martin Pilkington, Jason Gorton and Christopher Baguley.

Workington kept alive their chances of a top five finish with a 4-1 win at home to Matlock Town on Tuesday. Scott Allison scored all four goals for Workington, with Charlie Dawes scoring the consolation for the visitors. Workington go into the final weekend one point behind Ashton United and Stourbridge.

Frickley Athletic continued their recent good run at home to Barwell, but both sides playoff hopes for this season are over. John Cyrus scored the only goal of the game for Frickley, as they came out on top 1-0.

Whitby Town are safe after coming from behind to beat Barwell. Samuel Hollis had given Barwell the lead, but goals from Dale Hopson and Adam Gell secured Whitby’s place in the division for next season.

Marine secured their safety with a 3-0 win over already relegated Ramsbottom United. Daniel Mitchley scored twice for Marine with Liam Goulding scoring the other goal for the hosts.

Hyde United lost 2-1 away to Buxton on Saturday. Joel Bembo-Leta gave Buxton the lead, with Adam Jones levelling for Hyde. However, Spencer Harris scored the winner for Buxton nine minutes from time.

Hyde were then relegated on Monday night after they lost 4-0 at home to Nantwich,  Joshua Gordon, Liam Shotton, Thomas Fisher and Sean Cooke scoring the goals for Nantwich.

Already relegated Colwyn Bay picked up only their fifth home win of the season against Sutton Coldfield Town on Saturday. Sean Sheridan, Jordan Fagbola and Stephen Wilson scored as the Welsh side won 3-0.

The bottom two sides met on Tuesday night, as Ramsbottom United and Colwyn Bay drew 2-2. Jack Kelleher gave Colwyn an early lead, but goals from Jake Cliffe and an own goal from Carl Rodgers turned the game in Ramsbottom’s favour. However, both had to settle for a point as Jordan Harper levelled for the visitors early in the second half.

Mickleover Sports picked up a crucial point away to Skelmersdale United. Andrew Dales opened the scoring for Mickleover inside the first minute, with Christopher Almond levelling for Skelmersdale in the second half.

Mickleover then secured their place in the division for next season with a 1-1 draw at Nantwich Town. Liam Shottom had given Nantwich the lead, but Jake Green levelled six minutes later for Mickleover.

Stamford have been relegated despite a 4-1 win at Skelmersdale United on Tuesday night. Max Hazeldine had given Skelmersdale the lead after just two minutes, but goals from Jordan Smith, Jake Newman, Gregory Smith and Lee Beeson earned Stamford the win.
