Farsley made their intentions clear early, with a long throw by Tom Allan that was headed away for a corner, which Quakers managed to clear.

Farsley won a second corner on 4 minutes, and when the ball was cleared, it was crossed back into the middle for Andy Butler  to head just wide of the left hand post.

Farsley forced another corner on 8 minutes that Butler headed towards goal, but Alex Purver headed off the line.

Quakers went behind on 11 minutes when the ball was given away, and it was quickly played through the Darlington defence by Kian Scales for former loanee Theo Williams to slide past Taylor.

Quakers won a free kick 30 yards out which Hedley whipped in, and Farsley defender Allan nearly put the ball into his own net for a corner.

Rivers corner was cleared as far as Hedley, who helped the ball on to Rivers , who beat two men but his pull back was intercepted.

Farsley replied with a 25 yarder from Carlton Ubaezuonu that went well wide.

Quakers steadily got back into the game, and Rivers won a corner on the right on 32 minutes. Rivers curled the ball into the six yard box, and after a brief scramble, Jassem Sukar’s effort was held by Max Dearnley.

Farsley countered when Quakers lost possession in their final third, and Ubaezuonu’s effort was held by Taylor.

Quakers had a break when Hazel got away, but was tackled in the area, then Newall fired a left wing cross across the face of goal, and a defender glanced the ball away for a corner.

Another chance came along when Felix laid off a long ball for Hazel to run into the area, but his shot came back off the post.

Rivers popped up the left to control a 30 yard pass from Purver, move inside, and hit a right foot shot that the keeper fumbled.

But it was 2-0 just on half time when Quakers lost possession on the edge of their own area and after Ubaezuonu’s effort was partly stopped by Taylor, Williams fired the loose ball into the roof of the net.

Half time 2-0

Quakers nearly scored on the resumption, when Felix crossed from the right for Hazel to put in a twisting header that landed on the roof of the net.

Farsley went up the other end, and Ubaezuonu beat a man in the area, but Cooper got the ball out for a corner.

Felix had a half chance when Cooper played a long ball for Felix to fire across the face of goal, then Rivers crossed well from the right for Nelson to head wide at the far post.

Quakers won a free kick 25 yards out for a foul by Butler, but Hedley’s effort went into the wall, and Rivers’ follow up went wide.

Quakers made their first sub on 65 minutes, with Declan Howe coming on for Newall.

Four minutes later, they were back in the game when a patient build up down the right ended with Rivers pulling the ball back for Purver to sidefoot his second goal of the season.

But Farsley went 3-1 up on 71 minutes, when the ball was played through the middle for Mulhern to set up Chris Atkinson to slot the ball past Taylor.

Rivers dribbled into the area from the left, but was denied at the last moment, then Felix made a run into the box from the right, but was challenged.
