Darlington midfielder David Ferguson is looking forward to the atmosphere of a local derby against South Shields on Saturday.
Fergie scored a great goal for Quakers in the 3-0 home win over FC United in midweek – the second time in two seasons he has scored one against FC United that will live in the memory for a while – and now he’s relishing the South Shields game.
“There’s going to be a great atmosphere because they’re bringing a lot of fans,” he said. “the pressure will be on us because we’re at home and playing in a higher division, and we must play our own game.
“Shields will give us a tough game, because they’ll be coming here to prove a point and find out how far off they are from our league, plus to test their squad.
“We’ve got to nullify them, and exploit their weaknesses, and we’re in the right mood after the win on Wednesday night.
“We want to have a good run in the FA Cup. It will bring money into the club, and the players and the fans will enjoy a great experience.”
