DFC U14 Quakers 3 Beamish 0

Darlo took on Beamish at Eastbourne in one of the few games to beat the weather and controlled the game from start to finish.

Beamish hardly threatened but battled well Darlo passing the ball around Ciaran

Dixon looking lively down the right wing putting in numerous crosses in which weren't converted.

HT 0-0

Darlo came out with more threat in the second half with Sam Connolly showing more of a threat up front some good link up play between Sam and Connor Brown who forced his way through only to see his shot hit the cross bar.

It was only a matter of time before Darlo made the break through great ball from Lewis Carragher to Daniel Adok whose shot was parried by the keeper to Lewis who forced the ball home. It was soon 2 when Kai Wright’s corner was superbly finished by Frankie Whelan first time.

Daniel Adok was starting to look dangerous on his debut firing some great crosses in and forced another corner great ball in and another great finish from Frankie Whelan to make it 3 and net his fifth goal of the season. Sam looked like it would be 4 when the impressive Bobby Gray played him through but the keeper made a great save .

Frankie Whelan and Dan Bean were outstanding at the heart of the Darlo defence, neither putting a foot wrong. Frankie Whelan man of the match .

Full time 3-0

Match Report by Steve Perkins

The much-anticipated meeting between the 4th division’s two unbeaten teams lived up to all expectations as the game of the season so far. The game was played at a frenetic pace and both teams had chances go unrewarded throughout the match. Our opponents were first to score but Tom’s goal soon afterwards left the teams level pegging at the break.

The second half continued in the same vein and again our opponents took the lead in this half before Adam slotted the equaliser midway through the half. The last quarter of the game left both sides’ supporters on the edge of their seats as both keepers kept their team in the game with incredible saves and the final whistle brought much relief all round as the game ended 2-2. Well done to both sides for an excellent game played with 100% effort, it was great fun to watch.
