From the league: Monthly awards

This month's award winners

It’s time to put some awards into the hands of those who started 2022 in style in the National League North.
January was a big month for a number of clubs and the panel worked around the clock to ensure the worthy winners were recognised.
But they couldn’t hide from the fact that nobody had more points on the board than Kidderminster in January.
Add in the stunning FA Cup defeat of Reading, and you soon realise why the Harriers couldn’t be ignored.
Russ Penn has worked wonders - and only side boasts a better defensive record, with just the leaders Gateshead scoring more goals.
It’s the second time in three months Penn has got his hands on the award after landing November’s accolade.

Gateshead also have history with the monthly gongs, and they have received recognition for what they did in January, too.
Greg Olley couldn’t have felt worse towards the end of 2021 after he was forced to have a spell out through illness.
Hard at the best of times - but even more demanding when the team are really getting going.
Yet the midfielder played his way back into contention as they charged to the top.
Olley played a big part in wins against Bradford PA, Hereford, AFC Telford and Leamington as they recovered from a slow start to the year.

We love the Vanarama National League Volunteer of the Month award - it gives us the perfect chance to pay tribute to some special people.
We all know how vital good press is and the power of social media is far reaching.
Get it right, and you can quickly earn new fans and plenty of extra followers.
Adam Bridson continues to add value to Guiseley’s online activities and he’s a vital part of their team.
He makes himself available 24/7 to keep on top of things at Nethermoor - keeping their website and social media platforms updated on everything to do with the Lions.
Speed in 2022 is everything - you can’t afford to be behind when it comes to Twitter!
Giving up his free time, his speedy work hasn’t gone unnoticed and Guiseley say the uplift in attendances has got a lot to do with his fantastic supporter engagement.
Congratulations to our three fantastic winners!
