Darlington defender Gary Brown says that he came through Saturday’s comeback game at Kidderminster unscathed.
Gary had been out of action since the Spennymoor game in August because of a head injury, but he was given the all clear by a doctor to restart playing in the middle of the last week, and he came through a typically physical 90 minutes at Aggborough unscathed.
“I was really pleased with the way I played considering that I haven’t played for ten weeks,” he said.
“I was involved in a few challenges early on, and I came through them fine, and that assured me that there weren’t any after effects.”
Gary added his presence to the attack during the game, and said; “I thought I was unlucky not to score twice in the first half, I had both efforts cleared off the line.
“I thought we showed great character to come back from 3-1 down to get a point, and like Kevin Burgess said in the dressing room afterwards, it was just like two years ago. Our fighting spirit will always be there.
“Tez took his goal really well, and Dave Syers always looked dangerous. It was a shame that the game didn’t go on for another few minutes, because we had the momentum going and they were rocking. Once we got them on the back foot, we knew that they would crumble.”
