How long have you supported Darlo?
I have supported Darlo since I went to my first game. I won a competition to be a game day mascot back in 1994 against Hartlepool and we lost 2-1 at Feethams. I guess I was an impressive good luck charm.
What have been your best Darlo memories so far?
Lobbing David Preece while shooting towards the Tin Shed end when I was a mascot and beating Burnley at the Riverside in 1998.
What are you doing over in the States?
I came over here 12 years ago on a scholarship to play football and study for an undergraduate degree. I have since coached at several local youth clubs and universities. I am currently an assistant coach at West Virginia University with the men’s team and technical director at a local club. I have just finished my Ph.D. in kinesiology and will be looking to combine a university professor position with coaching in the future.
Why did you decide to invest in the club?
I decided to invest as the club is something that I have grown up with and supported for the majority of my life. I am proud to be from the town and ensure I promote the club at any opportunity over here.
How do you keep in touch with club affairs?
I am often on the forums, the website, listen to fans radio, and my mam was the lady selling the black and white scarves a couple of years back, so she keeps me up to date.
When was the last time you watched us play in the flesh?
I try to make a game or two each year I am home. The last game was away at Blyth Spartans in December 2015, a solid 1-0 win.
What does it mean to you for the club to move back to the town?
I feel it is an important step for the club and the town. Moving back to where the majority of the fan base lives is vital. If we can get more through the turnstiles it will continue to allow the club to grow.
