Darlington striker James Caton says that he was delighted to get off the mark with his second minute strike against Alfreton on Saturday.

Caton, who was signed by Quakers after he left Dover Athletic, scored a good goal with a shot on the turn to cancel out Alfreton's opener after 31 seconds, and set Quakers on the way to a 4-1 win.

"It all happened so fast, "he said. "The ball dropped to me, and I hit it on the swivel. I was delighted that the ball went over the keeper and into the net.

"It took a little bit of pressure off me, because I should have taken one of the chances that came my way against Gainsborough last week. Long may the goals continue."

Caton played his part in helping Quakers to their third win of the season, and he said; "We made hard work of it by going a goal behind after 31 seconds, because it's not the way you want to win a game. But the good thing is, we definitely have the firepower all the way through the team to score goals.

"Fortunately, I scored quick enough, because sometime in those situations everyone can get edgy."

Quakers are off to York City on Tuesday night for their first game there in six seasons, and Caton said; "It will be a tough game, just because of their stature.

"But if we can get a win there, it will be a big statement to the rest of the league. We couldn't have asked for anything better than three wins from our first three matches."
