As part of an ongoing review of the Club’s digital strategy and structure, a new role has become available for a Website Administrator.  The role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the Darlingtonfc.co.uk website.

Job Title:                    Website Administrator (Voluntary)

Reporting:                  Head of Media & Content

Working Hours:          Flexible, 5-10 hours per week

Role Profile:  

The Website Administrator will work alongside a team of Platform Developers and Designers responsible for the ongoing development and design of our growing number of digital technology platforms and interface with the Media & Content and Marketing teams.

The role would suit someone who already has a good grasp of what it takes to maintain a modern website but would like the opportunity to grow and develop within the role. Perhaps you’ve just graduated and are looking for some work experience, or maybe you’re coming to the end of your career and looking for something to fill the hours. As long as you’re able to commit to a few hours a week, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • To support the ongoing maintenance of the Darlington FC official website
  • Support on basic website development tasks
  • Work with platform developers and front-end designers to deploy design changes
  • Produce regular reports for the DFC Board on digital media performance and subsequent outcomes

Professional Experience:

There are a wide range of qualifications and experience available but we would expect experience in most of:

  • Understanding of PHP programming language
  • Experience with HTML, Javascript, and CSS
  • Experience with the Laravel framework
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Experience with creation and Management of MySQL databases & Servers
  • Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu distribution)
  • Knowledge of either the Apache or nginx web server

Personal Qualities:

The Website Administrator is a key part of the Technology team and will interface with the whole digital function. A strong interest in football would be an advantage, and we particularly welcome applicants in the local area with requisite skills keen to build or develop a career with a prominent local brand. Confidentiality and non-disclosure are prerequisites to this post, as are:

  • A passion for learning and adapting to change
  • Excellent time-management and planning skills
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment often at short notice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
