Darlington director John Tempest is hoping for a good turnout of fans ahead of the friendly match against Middlesbrough Under 23s on Wednesday night.

Darlington legend Craig Liddle is bringing his full Under 23 squad (that includes his son Ben) for the game against Quakers, who haven’t played a full 90 minutes since the FA Trophy tie against Harrogate Town nearly a month ago.

“I appreciate that we’re just a few days away from Christmas, but it would be great if a good number of Darlington fans turn up for the game,” he said. “Not only should we see a good game of football against a team that is top of the Premier Reserve League 2, but as was explained by David Johnston at the Dolphin Centre presentation, the club needs cash to help the overall cashflow.

“We are also putting on some good value hospitality in our hospitality area. I would also like to thank the rugby club for their help and co-operation in putting the game on.”

Darlington manager Tommy Wright is using the game as preparation for the away Vanarama National League North game at Gainsborough on Saturday.

Details of hospitality -- pie and peas for £10 -- are available from Joanne on hospitality@darlingtonfc.org.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm. Admission is £5 for adults and concessions, while Under 11s go free.
