Darlington FC director John Tempest has paid tribute to the fans who attended the first evening match at Blackwell Meadows on Wednesday night.

Quakers won 3-1 in front of a crowd of 1,423, a much bigger midweek crowd than most midweek games at Heritage Park in the past.

“The club would like to thank everyone who came along to the game on Wednesday night, we hope that everyone was rewarded by the winning result and enjoyed themselves,” he said.

“The attendance was very good, considering that it was the second home game in four days, that it was a midweek game with counter attractions on the television, and also that it was a school night.

“We have compared the attendance with previous midweek match nights at Heritage Park, and it was certainly more than most of those games. It just goes to prove how strong our support is now that we’ve returned to the town.”

Quakers’ next home game is against Brackley on Saturday 18th March, after the two forthcoming away games at Worcester and Stalybridge.

Why not bring a friend to the Brackley game?
