Cleator Moor Celtic 4 Darlington Reserves 1
The reserves returned from their four hour round trip to Cumbria pointless after they were beaten 4-1 at Cleator Moor Celtic tonight.
They got off to a great start when Nathan Stephenson scored after 2 minutes, but the Cumbrians hit Quakers with two goals in nine minutes, and another before half time to make the score 3-1.
Cleator scored another in the second half to finish off the scoring, and joint manager mark Fanning said; “At 3-1, the next goal was going to be crucial, and unfortunately it was Cleator who scored it. We were stronger in the second half, but it’s clear that some of our players are struggling with the physical side of the game.”
The reserves next game is at Redcar Athletic on Saturday in the Shipowners Cup.
