Darlington manager Martin Gray was upbeat after Quakers snatched a late point in a 3-3 draw at Gainsborough.
Quakers had to come back from 3-1 down after five minutes of the second half to grab a point thanks to two second half goals by David Syers, and MG said; “Yet again, the lads showed their character by never giving up.
“They rolled their sleeves up when we went 3-1 down, and gave everything and more to get back into the game. We took a few risks by pushing several players up front, but that was necessary in the circumstances in order to put pressure on the Gainsborough defence. I think our three subs all played a big part in getting us back into the game.
“The pressure paid off in the end. I don’t know if David caught the ball cleanly or not, but I don’t think anyone was bothered when the ball went in the net.
“All games are hard in this league, as we’ve discovered several times this season. That is a big point for us, it helps towards where we want to be at the end of the season, we’re unbeaten now for five successive games and picked up eleven points.
“We’re really looking forward now to our home game on Wednesday night against Bradford.”
