With Harrogate not in action Salford moved clear at the top of the table with a dramatic 1-0 win over Alfreton. With over 2,000 fans in the newly named Peninsula Stadium they were frustrated by their visitors. However, Emmanuael Dieseruvwe popped up in injury time to secure a 1-0 win for the Ammies.

Blyth Spartans dropped two places to fifth, as they were hammered by a Bradford Park Avenue who are two points off the playoff places. Goals from Wayne Brooksby, Oliver Johnson, Jamie Spencer and Adam Boyes put Bradford in control, with Robbie Dale’s goal being a consolation for the visitors, as they lost 4-1.

Spennymoor Town leapfrogged Blyth after a 1-0 win at Nuneaton. Glen Taylor scored the only goal of the game for the Brewers with just seven minutes remaining.

York City moved into the top seven with a 2-1 win over Curzon Ashton. Jon Parkin and Daniel Parslow put York 2-0 ahead before half time, with Joe Guest pulling one back for Curzon after the break, but they were unable to level.

Stockport County are eighth after hammering neighbours FC United of Manchester. Matthew Warburton, Jason Oswell and Kallum Mantack put County in control before the break. Jason Gilchrist pulled one back for FC United, but a second Warburton strike sealed a 4-1 win.

Southport were held at home by bottom of the table side North Ferriby United. Mark Gray gave North Ferriby the lead, but Steven Schumacher levelled just nine minutes later. Jordan Hallam put Southport ahead just after the break, but Kudarwashe Muskwe earned a 2-2 daw for the side at the foot of the table.

Boston United picked up a huge victory 2-0 at Leamington to move within four points of them.  Brad Mcgowan and Ashley Hemmings scored twice in four minutes to win the game for the Piilgrims.

Away from the league a number of the sides from our division were in FA Cup First Round action, however, none were able to progress into the second round.

Kidderminster Harriers faced AFC Fylde who beat them to the National North title last season and again they missed out as they lost 4-2.

Gainsborough Trinity have been in good form over the last month, but were hammered 6-0 at home by Slough. Telford United were also knocked out, 1-0 at Hereford.

Chorley looked to be on to shock Fleetwood Town in front of the BT Sport cameras, but they fell to a 2-1 defeat.
