National North Round-Up 10/12/2018

The latest action from our division

We suffered defeat at home to bottom of the table Nuneaton on Saturday, a result that leaves us 17th in the league table.

Bradford Park Avenue remain three points clear at the top despite being held to a 2-2 draw with fourth bottom Southport. Dean Winnard put Port ahead early on with Jake Beesley levelling just four minutes later.  Oli Johnson thought he had won it for Bradford but Bradley Bauress earned a point for the visitors 13 minutes from time.

Chorley had to thank Joshua O’Keefe for a late point away to Leamington. Colby Bishop gave the hosts the lead and that appeared to be the only goal until O’Keefe struck five minutes into added on time at the end of the game.

Altrincham are up to third after a 3-1 victory over Telford. Josh Hancock put them ahead on 17 minutes with Dominic Udoh levelling shortly after for Telford. However, goals inside the last quarter of an hour from Connor Hampson and a second from Hancock gave Altrincham the victory.

Chester dropped to fourth after drawing at Stockport. Atwasi Asante put Chester ahead, but Sam Walker earned a point for County on the stroke of half time.

Neighbours Spennymoor picked up one of the results of the season on the road at Alfreton. Glenn Taylor scored a hat-trick, along with goals from Stephen Brogan, Jamie Chandler, Shaun Tuton and Andrew Johnson as the Brewers won 7-1. Our former striker Reece Styche scored the consolation for Alfreton when the score had been 3-0.

Kidderminster are sixth following a 2-0 triumph over Brackley Town. Ashley Chambers scored in each half for Harriers.

Boston United are just two points outside the top seven after a 2-0 win over York. Nicholas Walker and Gavin Allott grabbed the goals in the second half.

Blyth are level with points with Boston after also winning 2-0. Sean Reid and Robbie Dale were on target against Ashton United

FC United of Manchester picked up an important 2-0 win at home to Curzon Ashton to move out of the bottom three. Joshua Wallen gave FC United the lead after just minutes before Michael Donohue sealed the win mid-way through the second half.
