The latest from our division

Our 4-2 defeat at Hereford saw us slip below them as we dropped to 17th in the league table. We remain 7 points off the relegation zone.

Chorley returned to the top of the league table with a 3-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers. Josh Wilson scored twice including inside the first five minutes. Marcus Carver added the third to seal victory over the playoff chasers.

Stockport fell off the top with a 1-0 defeat at fourth placed Brackley. Lee Ndlovu scored the only goal of the game 14 minutes from time for the hosts.

Third placed Spennymoor’s game was postponed meaning they are seven behind Chorley with two games in hand.

Bradford PA are fifth after a 2-0 success at struggling Ashton United. They had to wait till the 68th minute to break the deadlock through Oliver Johnson, but sealed the win thanks to Jamie Spencer in stoppage time.

Altrincham moved up to sixth with a 1-0 win at York City. Joshua Hancock netted the only goal nine minutes from time to dent York’s faint playoff hopes.

Telford United suffered a shock home defeat to FC United of Manchester who moved themselves within three points of safety. Dom Mchale, Kurt Willoughby and Thomas Peers won the game for FC United as they were 3-0 up within an hour. Ellis Deeney scored a consolation in stoppage time for Telford but thats all it was, with the match finishing 3-1.

While they have bigger concerns off the pitch Nuneaton’s problems on the field continued as they lost 2-1 at home to Alfreton to move closer to the trap door. David Shiels gave Alfreton the lead, before Ryan Edmunds appeared to rescue a point for the side who sit bottom of the table. However, Jordan Sinnott gave Alfreton the win just three minutes from time.

Leamington picked up an important point in their survival bid at Chester. Ben Mckenna put Chester ahead just after the break, but Ahmed Obeng gave the Brakes a 1-1 draw despite only having ten men on the field following a red card.

Boston kept alive their outside hopes of a playoff place with a 3-2 success at Southport. Bradley Bauress had Port ahead early on,  before goals from Jake Wright and Gavin Allott put the Pilgrims alin control.The late drama continued with Jordan Mcfarlane-Archer levelling for Southport, but it was not enough as Nicholas Walker gave Boston victory in the final minute.
