We returned to winning ways on Wednesday night, as we beat FC United of Manchester 3-0 to move up to 11th in the table.

Salford City and Harrogate Town moved clear at the top, as both won comfortably in midweek. Jordan Thewlis was the star of the show for Harrogate, as his hat-trick was the difference against a Southport side on the slide. He scored twice early to put them in control, with a Gary Roberts penalty gave Southport hope. However, Thewlis  sealed his hat-trick with Joe Leesley adding another late on.

Salford enjoyed just as comfortable a win, as they dispatched Nuneaton 3-0 with all the goals coming in the first half. Lois Maynard, Anthony Dudley and Joshua Askew all scoring as the Ammies picked up the three points.

Brackley are third despite being held to a 1-1 draw at Alfreton. Lee Ndlovu gave Brackley the lead after quarter of an hour, but Craig Westcarr levelled just three minutes later.

Blyth are fourth after another impressive win, 2-0 at home to Chorley. Nathan Buddle gave Blyth the lead after 56 minutes with Stephen Jordan sent off in the aftermath for Chorley. Spartans would make the points safe late on as Dan Maguire secured the win with six minutes to go.

Tamworth maintained their good start to the season with a 2-1 win over Kidderminster Harriers. Darryl Knights and Bradley Reid scored for Tamworth either side of half time, meaning a late Joe Ironside’s goal was just a consolation.

Spennymoor emphatically dispatched North Ferriby on the road, 6-0. It was all over by the break, as they led 4-0 through a Mark Anderson double along with strikes from Chris Mason and Glen Taylor. Kallum Griffiths made it five, before Anderson completed his hat-trick.

York were forced to settle for a point at home to Gainsborough Trinity.  Jonathan Wafula gave Trinity the lead midway through the second half with Josh Law earning a 1-1 draw for York just eight minutes later.

Bradford Park Avenue are just outside the playoffs on goal difference after coming from behind to beat Boston United. Brad Mcgowan gave the Pilgrims the lead, but Mark Ross levelled for the hosts just four minutes later. Just seven minutes into the second half Adam Boyes then won the game for Bradford.

Telford United beat Stockport County 3-2 despite being pegged back twice by the visitors. John Marsden gave Telford an early lead, which was cancelled out by Matthew Warburton. Anthony Dwyer again put the hosts in front before Bohan Dixon scored just three minutes later to make it all square at the break.  In the second period there was less action, but Jordan Murphy scored the crucial goal which lifted Telford above County in the table.

Leamington’s decent form on the road continued, as they picked up a useful point at Monday night at Curzon Ashton. Ben Wharton gave the Nash the lead, but Jack Edwards won a point for the visitors who have so far picked up all of their points on the road.
