Quaker Women sign Sara Waites

Debut on Sunday

Darlington FC Women are delighted to officially announce the signing of Sara Waites.

Sara spent a lot of her youth playing football at Stockton Town West End progressing onto Marton FC alongside playing at the Middlesbrough Centre of Excellence.

Sara then stopped playing football and pursued running, particularly half marathons and started a family. She recently returned to playing football and signed for Stockton Town Ladies after a period away from the game. She is excited to get started and hopes to help the club progress going forward this season’

Manager Shaun Mackenzie said; "I am happy to bring another top midfielder into the squad, as with Aimee’s pregnancy and Toni’s long term injury, we are a little bit short in that department. Sara has trained with the team over the last few weeks and will add some more experience to our young side. She is good on the ball and tries to retain possession as well as create chances and I am confident with she will offer some creativity to the squad as she builds up her match sharpness."

Sara will go straight into the squad alongside the other new signing, Lucy Hart, for Sunday's home game with Chester-le-Street Amazons at Eastbourne, kick off 2pm.
