On Saturday we host South Shields in the second qualifying of this season’s Emirates FA Cup, our first FA Cup tie since we played Hinckley in the fourth qualifying round in 2011 (writes Simon Hahn)

We’re due a good FA Cup run, as we’ve only registered one victory since demotion against West Auckland. We ended our winless run on Wednesday night, with a 3-0 victory over FC United, while South Shields have continued their impressive start to their campaign in the Evo-Stik Division One North.

We last met during our Northern League title season when we won both encounters, 3-0 at Filtrona Park and 2-1 at Heritage Park.

Amongst their ranks is ex Quaker Anthony Callaghan who played six times for us during the 2015/16 season after joining from Northern League Washington. Their captain is former Sunderland and Middlesbrough player Julio Arca. They also have Gavin Cogden available, who has played against us numerous times in recent years for Spennymoor Town.

Quakers will be without Nathan Cartman, who is cuptied having played for Farsley whilst on loan to them.

Whoever progresses from the tie will be just two wins away from the first round proper of the competition, with the third qualifying round taking place on the weekend of the 30th of September.

Kick off on Saturday afternoon is 3:00pm, updates on the game will be made from the club's Facebook, Twitter and Website. Live Commentary will be broadcast from Darlo Fans Radio at 2:50pm
